Rider Hunt are appointed as the Trust Cost Advisor for Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust on their first P21+ scheme providing a 15 bed dementia unit at the Carleton Clinic, Carlisle.

This £2.6 million pound investment by the Trust is to help the county tackle a so-called “dementia time-bomb”

The project is a part new build extension and refurbishment of an existing unit to create the 15 bed en-suite rooms along with activity and social spaces designed to provide a calm and safe environment which has been innovatively designed to help people with dementia.  The social spaces include enclosed external courtyards and garden spaces providing comfortable and dignified environments for relatives whilst visiting.

Rider Hunt have worked successfully with the Trust on many other P21 schemes and have just recently completed the new 20 bed dementia unit at Barrow in Furness where key design features have been incorporated into the new scheme at Carlisle.
